Pease Public Library Food Pantry: The Pease Public Library has a public-access food pantry! Visitors can find this located on the bottom floor of the library across from our book sale room.

Jackie’s art will be on display for the month of October. Please join Jackie at the Pease Public Library for an artist reception on Thursday, November 6th, at 6:00 PM.

Do you miss being read to? Anyone grades K-12 can join Moses in the children’s room for a chapter of a book per week! Our first book will be Roald Dahl’s Matilda.

Children and their adults can join a staff member for stories, songs or rhymes, and a movement activity.
Thursdays, November 6, 13, & 20: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Sensory Play
Join us in the hour before Thursday Storytime for lots of sensory fun! Your child will touch, smell, see and hear so many fun things. Activities may include kinetic sand, soap and water, finger paints, colored ice, and more!

Ever wonder what’s lurking just beyond your periphery? Join the Cryptid Society, where every month we’ll learn about a new supernatural creature, while doing crafts and trying to spot the Loch Ness Monster.
Thursday, November 6: 6:00 PM: November Artist Reception: Jackie Hanson
Join us at the Library for the Artist Reception of Jackie Hanson, our November Artist. The Reception will be held in the Main level of the Library where the public will be able to enjoy the Art and be able to ask the Artist questions, as well as enjoying light refreshments generously funded by the Young Ladies Library Association.

Back by popular demand, join Librarian Kim for a beginner basics workshop on Cybersecurity and Protecting Our Community. We will be going over recognizing a secure website – making passwords strong and memorable – recognizing and avoiding online scams. Must bring your own laptop. Registration Required.

Monday, November 10: 5:00 PM: Wicked Three-Part Event Part 1: Movie Night: Wicked - Part One
Join Pease Pubic Library and Plymouth Recreation in “defying gravity” with a three part Wicked extravaganza. For part one we will watch Wicked: Part One (Rated PG). Pizza will be served at 5PM and the movie will start at 5:20PM. Please email lash@pemibaker.org to sign up.
Wednesday, November 12: 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Book Buddies
Come read to Jack! Jack is a registered therapy dog and will be coming to the children’s room (with his handler) on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Reading to Jack is a great way for struggling and reluctant readers to build confidence and for shy kids to talk in a non-judgmental space.
Saturday, November 15: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Nature Explorers: Inspiring Young Minds Toward a Love of the Natural World
Come enjoy nature-themed activities designed to engage children in nature education. Activities include a reading of The Pond Walk, rock painting, and leaf painting/rubbing. Ages 3-8 (guardian must be present).
Monday, November 17: 3:00 PM: Scams and Identity Theft
603 Legal Aid’s Consumer Law Unit joins us for a presentation focusing on the growing risks of scams and identity theft, exploring how personal information is stolen and misused by criminals. You will learn how to identify red flags, secure sensitive information, and respond effectively to potential threats. 603 Legal Aid is a non-profit organization offering legal information, representation, advocacy, and education for all of NH.
Wednesday, November 19: 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM: Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum
Celebrate Native American Heritage month at the library! Join us for a special presentation by Madeleine Gosselin Wright, Abenaki storyteller. Madeleine has been a storyteller at the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum for the past five years, at schools, adult centers, and other programs. The stories will give you an understanding of Abenaki life and culture. A slideshow and artifacts from the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum will be included. The Abenaki are the Indigenous People who lived and still live in New Hampshire. Madeleine has a BA in History from Northeastern University and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. Grades K-12 are welcome, along with their guardians.

Think Thanksgiving, but with friends! And you get to talk about books? And you don’t have to cook all the food? Yes, please! Please bring a potluck dish of your choice (it doesn’t have to be Thanksgiving-themed) and a book you would like to recommend to someone else or if you have any book suggestions. Even if you do not have a book recommendation, you can still come and enjoy the food and the company of others. Everyone is welcome!

For part two we will follow the yellow brick road and venture off to see Wicked: For Good (rated PG) in theaters. Meet at Pease Public Library. Please register on the Plymouth Recreation website by November 11th.
